LPP program

Something quite funny happens with this student of mine. Well, actually she's my student's friend, and my classmate, and its all complicated... haha

I'm teaching CS1101C Labs this semester, so I have quite a number of students: 4 lab groups x 40 students = 160? Sometimes students say hello to me and I don't know who they are... Now I know the feeling of being a teacher, and why they always like to "try to remember our names". Anyway, I've a student called XL in my class, who does quite okay in her labs.

I'm taking JS1101E this semester too, year 1 Japanese Studies module as a GEM. There's this classmate in my tutorial group, called HP.

So one fine day when I finished my lab session, I exit the bloody cold place, and right in front of me sits two girls, XL and HP. The lab door is immediately in front of their desk, so they see me immediately. Then the conversation goes:

XL: "Hey hey! This guy this guy! He is my lab TA, called Malcolm!"
HP (at the same time): "Hey look there! Whats this guy doing here? He's in my JS class, Takeshi, the one with the Japanese name!"

Actually HP is taking CS1101CL too, but she's in a different lab group. Then lately, she came over and crashed my lab group. (She says her TA sux) So HP becomes my classmate + student... hahaha. weird.

Anyway HP says she's in this LPP program (which is what I wanted to blog about). 2 years compulsory language modules, and then exchange to that country. Wow. Why didn't they offer this bloody LPP when I was entering? ~!@#$%^&*()

So HP tells me, actually she read the article that I wrote after I came back from Japan SEP, and she felt inspired to go for this LPP program. LOL.... Looks like a lot of people read the rubbish I write. The article is still on the NUS IRO website now: http://www.nus.edu.sg/IRO/partners/aa/japan/index.html


And it appears on Google as well... hahahaha. I shall screenshot it in case IRO takes it down.
